RCOS 2006 Dichroic Beam Splitter...
Dichroic Beam Splitter
October 2006 - Field testing using a Sensors Unlimited 900nm - 1.7mu SWIR camera and Visible 400-700nm video camera. Both cameras receive approximately 95% of the light in their respective spectral range.
In this Dichroic "Hot Mirror", the visible light from 425nm is reflected and the IR light above 675nm is allowed to transmit making for an ideal Visible / Short Wave IR camera combination.

Can support multiple configurations including 50/50 beam splitters, pellicles, and cubes.
In early 2000, RCOS designed, developed, and manufactured a Dichroic Beam Splitter (DBS) to permit "on-axis" Adaptive Optics guiding. We have since redesigned the DBS to accommodate two imaging cameras, rather than a single imager and a guider. For example, a Visible Light camera and NIR / SWIR camera. Or an SWIR and MWIR camera. These new model Beam Splitters are commercially available as of October 2006.
